24.04.13 All work and very little play.

An intense work day today, so a short blog.

I finished Ann last night. I love this Rowan yarn (pure wool, D/K) it’s very soft and gives the garment some ‘drape’ giving me the exact effect I wanted. When one ‘dreams’ up a design, it’s sometimes very hard to get the finished garment looking like the ‘dream’; in this case dream fulfilled!

A lovely sunny day, and my lovely daughter-in-law Holly came over and modelled Valbonne. I hadn’t tried it on anyone before, doesn’t she look good? Of course one could put a black plastic bag on Holly and she’d still look wonderful!

Today I am typing up the second bag pattern, how I wish I could read my own writing! I’ve named it Valerie, after a dear friend –  Then I am typing up the very first knitting pattern for my website. It’s called Lazy Days. This cardigan is my wardrobe mainstay, in summer months it can be found on top of the picnic basket; it’s also used for cool evenings in the garden and to cuddle by a winter’s fire. It’s accompanied me to the pub on many occasions, it’s the quintessential, smart-casual garment! It comes in two version, one using a variegated yarn and the other in stripes. The striped one was, in fact, knitted from my ‘leftover yarn basket’.
