19.08.13, Art day four and yet another tree

First of all, I thank everyone who has contacted me regarding Oradour-sur-Glane, you touched my heart………………

Art exhibition Day Four

Northern Italy

Northern Italy

And to pick up from yesterday’s theme of trees……………………

This magnificent Catalpa (Indian Bean Tree) stands beside, and is as tall as, the Hall. It’s the last of the trees to blossom, it’s well worth the wait………….the air is heavy with the most exquisite heady scent. It assails all my senses, I stand and drink in the perfume, listen to the rustle of the leaves, touch the smooth bark, and feast on the beauty of the blossom – how’s that for waxing lyrical? But actually it’s true……………

Of course, this tree also has a history…………..a young man, obviously dashingly handsome, (did mention that it was my husband?) picked up seeds when traveling with his father in central America, he was seventeen – green fingers even then!

Of course, he’s still dashingly handsome ……………..

still seventeen at heart
