Art exhibition day eight, a foreign invader and home sweet home

Art exhibition day eight……………………….

Top Barn, West Hall

Top Barn, West Hall

Painted on a dazzling day in early summer, my painting makes the barn look in far better repair than it is!

Many years ago my husband did battle (and thought he’d won) with this noxious weed Japanese Knot Weed. It was brought to this country from Korea as a garden feature , it’s certainly very handsome, but it grows to ten feet and more, very, very vigorous and completely takes over; choking any other pants that get in it’s way. How it came to grow and prosper on this a little bridge, which spans two of the lakes, we can’t imaging. I’m suitably horrified to see that it’s back as vigorous as before……….. let the battle begin

One of the best things about my morning walk with the dogs is, of course, coming home…… tea for me and a biscuit for the dogs………………

My home in the valley

And the best news of the week? My little Durham family are coming to stay next week………my son, daughter-in-law and all five of my grandsons………….yippee

More art tomorrow…………………….
