24.08.13. Art exhibition day nine and a very fruitful tree

Art day nine

South of France

South of France

Today it is raining (hard) and France seems like a very good idea – I wonder if my daughter needs a baby-sitter, hmm……………………………………………

Here’s another tree……………….this time with a special, but much shorter, history……………….

Crab Apple

Crab Apple

Just two years ago I met Lorain and Nicholas Parker; Chefs extraordinaire at my son’s  hotel, The Kings Head, Great Bircham. I’m so much of a country girl at heart that I cannot resist picking and preserving the fruits of the field. There was a bountiful amount of crab apples that year…………..I picked basketfuls, and Nick and Lorain came to my home to see how to make Crab apple jelly, you might like to read that bit again – famous chefs asking me to show them how to make crab apple jelly!

And the tree? when we moved from the Hall to this cottage on the Estate, Nick and Lorain bought me this crab apple tree for  a house warming present. It’s  only  in it’s first year and going to produce enough fruit for a couple of pounds of jelly…………..thank you Nick and Lorain x

More art tomorrow, and maybe a peek at the latest knitting design……………….
