Four days to go to my Camino

Four days to go, lots of quite negative thoughts, Am I fit enough? No, to that one, the snow here over the last week put paid to my training plans, which actually took me to the surrounding villages (the ones that have a pub and serve a good cup of coffee). And, with the best will in the world Norfolk is not the Pyrenees! Do I have all that I need? Far too much actually, but with the route covering so many changes in temperature, it’s awfully hard to know what to pack. But I have packed, and now have to unpack and throw all the things I don’t really need out again, I need to get the weight down as much as possible.

I have my Camino passport or Credencial Del Peregrino as it is officially called

My original intention was to wear my old (very old) down coat with my husband’s ski jacket on the top. It felt right to be wearing something of his, on reflection and even though I can get loads of layers under it; it really is ridiculously large. So today I splashed out in the Trespass sale and bought a down jacket and almost matching soft shell jacket. I now do at least look the part, even if I don’t yet feel the part.

Love Susan
