Day 29: Reliegos to León

My night in the authentic Auberge was okay, not wonderful but okay, breakfast of toasted baguette and olive oil was also okay, but alas, the coffee con leche was probably the worse coffee I have had ever been presented with…..

In line with the municipal Auberges I had to be out and on the road by 9am, that’s quite usual for me anyway, but many of the municipal auberges one has the be up and out by 7 or 8 am, okay if it’s summer and therefore light, not so good when it’s only just getting light at 8am….

When I left this morning it was a definite hat, scarf and glove, day, but by 10:30 gloves, hat, scarf and even my coat were off and the sun was a very welcome sight…..

For some inexplicable reason my photos are refusing to upload so no pictures tonight. I’m having a rest day here in León tomorrow so hopefully I can update you on my wonderful journey more fully then….

I will leave you with this thought. I am in a nice hotel, I have done all my laundry and hoping it will dry by when I pick up the Camino again on Sunday. I’m so tired that I can’t even think of going out and getting food and room service doesn’t begin until 8:30pm (every good pilgrim is usually in bed by 8pm) I am therefore demolishing my ’emergency rations’ :- biscuits , one remaining Babybel, walnuts and chocolate. No Tinto or San Miguel for me tonight….

Love Susan x

    Hi Susan,
I’ve just had a quick Wikipedia search of Leon and it looks like a beautiful place to spend your free day. Well planned.
    Sleep well!
